Groton Long Point (GLP) is a political subdivision of the town of Groton, on Long Island Sound in New London County, CT. The population was 667 at the 2000 census. Used mostly by families as a summer resort, life in Groton Long Point is very different depending on the season.

Being a summer community, Groton Long Point population decreases in early September. Many of the summer families and the renters exit, leaving only a small number of full-time residents in the fall, winter and spring months. Children remaining often attend nearby Fitch Senior High School, in Groton.There are many activeties for children and adults too.
